From CPS Billing to Mira™: What Changes for Current Customers

This is a public retrospective on our brand transition for anyone curious about our roots and where we are going. If you are new to Mira™, here is the short story.

CPS Medical Billing was a managed billing service for hospice and home-health agencies. For roughly ten years, our team ran revenue cycles — working the denial queue, preparing for IDG meetings, watching families navigate systems that were never designed with them in mind. We built deep, specific knowledge of how the work actually runs.

A few years ago we started asking a different question: what if the workflows we had mastered as operators were available as software? Not general-purpose healthcare software adapted to hospice, but a platform built from the ground up for the way hospice and home-health billing actually works. That project became Mira™.

CPS Medical Billing has wound down as a service operation. We are now building Mira™ full-time. The platform carries everything we learned — the domain knowledge, the edge cases, the workflow decisions that only make sense if you have actually run a hospice billing team.

Is CPS Billing being sold or merging with another company?

No. CPS Billing was not acquired, sold, or merged. The company that operated the billing service is the same company building Mira™, owned by the same people, operated by the same team. The brand changed to reflect the shift from service operation to software platform. The ownership and operational structure are unchanged.

What is new beyond the brand?

The rebrand reflects a genuine change in what we do. Mira™ is a workflow platform that agencies can use directly — it is not a billing service with a software layer on top.

The platform includes seven AI-powered features: IDG brief generation, admission documentation assistance, denial prediction, AI-assisted appeal drafting, billing code suggestions, clinical visit note summarization, and a bilingual family chatbot. It also includes a family portal available in English and Spanish, a full billing module purpose-built for hospice payer rules, and a compliance monitoring dashboard covering 42 CFR 418.58.

Does the team change?

No. The people who built the knowledge that went into Mira™ are the same people building it. If you worked with someone at CPS Medical Billing and are considering Mira™, you are dealing with the same team.
